Time for a Change
Brothers and Sisters,
My name is Cadeidra “Dee Dee” Green, and I am proud to announce my candidacy for President of AFGE Local 2145. I am not just a name on a ballot— I am a voice that has consistently acted and spoken up when others were silent. I come to you as a committed advocate, a tenured federal employee, and someone who has lived the very challenges our members face daily.
I am a practicing Kinesiotherapist with over a decade of service in the Department of Veterans Affairs. My clinical experience is matched by years of fighting on the frontlines of employee representation. I didn’t just step into union work—I was pulled in by necessity. I’ve filed and won grievances. I’ve supported employees through successful EEO claims, written and submitted Unfair Labor Practice (ULP) charges, and helped navigate the complexities of workers’ compensation cases. I’ve worked closely with employees who felt voiceless and walked with them until they were heard.
I currently serve as Vice President, Title 5 Professionals with over a decade of experience, witnessing firsthand the gaps in representation, the silence in our acting leadership, and the cost of broken trust. My union work began with boots on the ground—helping employees write statements, represent themselves confidently, and understand their rights. I’ve pushed back against retaliation, discrimination, and unsafe work practices. I’ve called out broken processes. I’ve been retaliated against, stripped of opportunities, and blackballed—all for fighting for employees’ rights and demanding accountability. But I never stopped showing up. Because this fight isn’t just mine—it’s ours.
Now, I’m running for President because it’s time to return the union to the employees. This Local was built to protect, inform, and empower—yet far too many of us have been left out, ignored, or misrepresented. That stops now.
If elected, I will:
• Ensure full inclusion of all shifts and all sites, including CBOCs via virtual platforms, with transparency at every meeting.
• Establish a real system to track employee concerns—with follow-up, not silence.
• Fill vacant officer seats to ensure true representation across departments.
• Restore confidentiality and trust in union operations—no more backdoor deals or selective communication.
• Implement training accountability—anyone who attends will bring that knowledge back to you.
• Ensure full financial compliance with audits and required reporting—without unnecessary delays or years-long wait times—allowing full transparency with the financial books.
I’ve seen the inside of this system, and the harm caused when leadership puts power over people. But I’ve also seen what happens when workers unite, speak truth, and demand better. You deserve better. I won’t just talk about change—I have a 90-day plan ready to act on it.
